Wednesday Night (Consecration Services)

Do you need a revival?
Do you need God to do some restoration and renewal in your life?
Do you need to reactivate/revitalize some talents and gifts that God placed in you?
Are they some things in life that are dormant that you need God to reawaken?

If you missed last night then you missed an awesome and powerful Word as our featured Speaker for all three nights, Rev. Antonio Corbin gave us the lowdown on where revival starts – your local assembly and the importance of understanding the significance of your local assembly. In other words, revival starts at home...

See below for an excerpt from the message God gave him for his people..

Sermon Notes

Text: Revelation 1:10-20

Main Theme: Lord send a Revival; let it begin in Me.

Wednesday Sub-Theme: The Local Assembly

God has placed certain things and places in our surroundings to glorify him, one of those things being the Local Assembly (Church).  People need to understand the concept of the Local Assembly and have the right perception of it.   But what does this have to do with revival?

If we interfere with what God has placed there to glorify him and have the wrong perception of our surroundings then we stop having revival because revival starts at home (spiritual home).  We have to understand the significance of our spiritual home/local assembly.  There must a place that is greater than your doctor, your lawyer, your accountant, your workplace your home, your budget, your routine, etc. that you can run into when trouble arises.

For instance, the Garden of Eden was one such place; it was the place where God communed with man.  But because Eve didn’t understand the importance of the Garden, she didn’t care for it and was easily led astray.  The Tabernacle was also such a place where Moses went into the Holy of Holies and met with God.  Another example is the Temple.

The Garden, the Tabernacle and the Temple are no longer here but the Church is.  When one studies the text and the following chapters, God talks about the Churches and he voices his pleasure, his displeasure, what they have done and what they needed to do to get the victory.

Revival is tied to what the individual puts into his/her local assembly.  The heart, passion and well being of the local Assembly must be the focus of the individual.  The energy of the church membership must be about the building up of what belongs to God and by extension belongs to them.  The church membership then has to protect what belongs to them and understand the significance.  Eve did not do this.  There are things that one as a member should be doing:

  • Shoulder your responsibility – leaders, ushers, worship team, musicians, parking attendants, etc. need to be serious about what they doing and should see it as a ministry.
  • Strengthen it with reliability – there should be enough people in a particular ministry, so that some can take a break.  And it should never be a case of people wondering if the usher/drummer/musician/etc. are going show up.  Are you dependable?
  • Shape your assembly through respect – are you disrespectful to leadership?  Is it a case where a leader can talk to someone Sunday morning but can’t chastise him or her Sunday evening?
